Follow on Google News | Sabert Corporation Volunteers for 'Earth Day' at the RetreatBy: Active Heroes The Sabert volunteers worked on getting the trash from the last dump on the property placed into a dumpster. The group worked hard in the humid, muddy conditions to tackle the trash pile. Active Heroes wants to not only create a retreat for veterans and their families, but also conserve the environment and land for future generations. Active Heroes has already initiated a recycling program at the retreat, and is using some reclaimed materials in construction of the retreat. The work ended for the day as a rain downpour moved in. One volunteer, Steve, continued through the conditions in the tractor by using the bucket loader to get trash into the dumpster. "This was a great day and we look forward to volunteering more in the future," stated Ann Armstrong. Armstrong is with Sabert Corporation and was the one who reached out to Active Heroes to volunteer at the retreat. "This was very productive day. Active Heroes is very thankful for Sabert Corporation volunteering and the work this group did," said Ryan DeLong, Retreat Center manager. "I would also like to personally thank Ann Armstrong for reaching out to me and getting this great group out here." Active Heroes' next Military Family Retreat Center volunteer day is scheduled for Saturday, April 30.
