San Antonio Nerd Night presents February Nerd Night Benefiting SAMMinistries

SAN ANTONIO - Feb. 10, 2016 - PRLog -- San Antonio Nerd Night announces its February Nerd Night gaming event, taking place at Geeks Café on Friday, February 12, 2015 at 7:00 pm and benefiting SAMMinistries.

San Antonio Nerd Night will collect items for “Welcome Baskets,” given to each family as they enter SAMMinistries’ Transitional Housing Program, which is just one of many services SAMM offers. These baskets give San Antonio families much-needed household goods as they begin their journey to self-sufficiency. Nearly half of San Antonio’s population lives with no savings, which puts them at high risk of becoming homeless if they experience a loss of income.

The event is free to attend. San Antonio Nerd Night will be accepting item donations beginning at 7:00pm on Friday, February 12. Planned activities at this fourth Nerd Night include open tabletop board gaming, an art auction and a raffle. Geeks Café is located at 5460 Babcock Rd #100, San Antonio, TX 78240. This is the first Nerd Night at Geeks Café, which opened in November 2015. They eagerly stepped in to host when unexpected issues arose with Nerd Night’s previous venue.

“We’re looking forward to hosting Nerd Night at Geeks Café,” said Stephanie Newman, founder and organizer of San Antonio Nerd Night. “Their full menu, great space and welcoming atmosphere are a good fit for our group. They’re relatively new, like us, and it’s just the kind of business we want to support.”

San Antonio Nerd Night is a group of tabletop gamers working together to change their community by “Gaming for Good.” Gamers have a unique perspective on working together due to the games they play.
