Two New Additions To The Ever Expanding Range Of Ultrasonic Transducers From GB Inspection Systems

CANNOCK, U.K. - Dec. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- GB Inspection Systems has recently introduced 2 new variants of its extremely popular twin crystal 10mm diameter, 5 MHz transducer TC10-5(s) after receiving significant positive feedback from its customers.

The difference is that they have a lightweight yet durable plastic case instead of the traditional stainless steel and aluminium cases. Whichever case is chosen the ultrasound performance is unaffected so the choice between the plastic and metallic cased probes is made as simple as possible.

The part numbers to the new transducers are TCP 10-5(s) and TCP 10-5(ML)SF5 the latter being short focussed at 5mm in steel which is particularly useful for the measurement of thickness of thin walled materials. For example, it has enhanced performance in resolving thinner wall thicknesses when carrying out thickness gauging checks.  It can resolve thicknesses of 1.5 mm using the first back wall echo and the amplitude of a first back wall response at 5mm depth displays the highest echo in relation to the following repeat back wall echoes. This feature makes it easy for digital flaw detectors to read the correct thickness when measuring in the peak mode.
