Local Bakery Teams Up with Former AZ Cardinals Player to Make Holidays Sweeter for kids in Hospital

PHOENIX - Dec. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Each year over 200,000 kids visit the Phoenix Children’s hospital (PCH) and unfortunately so many of those kids are there during the holidays and not able to enjoy this special time at home or participate in popular holiday activities. So, Jewel’s is teaming up again with the PCH foundation and Michael Bankston to bring a holiday favorite past time of Christmas cookie decorating to these kids staying at the hospital.

Jewel’s Bakery owner, Julie Moreno along with Michael Bankston will host a Christmas cookie decorating event, meet and greet and autograph signing for the kids and their families on Tuesday Dec. 8th from 10 AM – 12 PM. This event will take place at the Phoenix Children’s hospital in the “Zone” area.

About Jewel’s Bakery and Café:  Jewel's began in 2009 when owner Julie Moreno's daughter, Sophia, was having severe abdominal issues and was ultimately hospitalized. The doctors had no clear answers. About Michael Bankston: Michael Bankston is a former Defensive Tackle / Defensive End who played nine seasons in the National Football League. Bankston played for the Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals and Cincinnati Bengals. He played college football at Sam Houston State University and currently resides in Phoenix, AZ.
