ARLETA, Calif. - Nov. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- I just recently purchased a used BMW 335i 2011 year model with an aftermarket head unit in it, but without rear view camera, I searched online for a few days and finally I purchased this trunk handle rear camera to connect with the existing navigation system.

Finally I have that trunk handle bmw backup camera installed by a professional electrician. The trunk lid handle is easy to remove, and you just need to get your fingernails under the back edge of the handle (the part towards the front of the car when the trunk is close), and then just pull back on it towards the back of the car, so that the edge will bend and release the clips, then just pull down and a bit towards the front of the car to pop it out.

The bmw trunk handle reverse camera is with good resolution, 500TV line, the image sensor is CCD, after you put in reverse grear, it can automatically work and display on the screen from the navigation screen monitor, there are 2 colored reference lines, which help you gauge distance red/yellow/green. They don't move though like oem as that is dependent on talking to the steering angle sensor.

You can find more info about this BMW trunk handle back up camera on this page: http://www.dvdgpsnav.com/bmw-trunk-handle-rear-view-camer...

A quick question you may have: You just buy that camera and plug it in? What else did you get to make it work?

Much more complicated than that - it is just a rearview camera for bmw, firstly you need to figure out how to hook it up and display it on the navigation screen, and run vide wires from the front to the back, there are a few ways to do it, one is hook the input into something live a tvandnav2go module or several companies make a specific backup cam kit using that camera from bimmerretrofit.

If you are interested in you can also install a license plate light bmw backup camera, which is more centrally located, don't worry, it has night view you can also see clearly in the night when reversing. You need to run wires to the back as well, it takes me a long time to do so, others are easy and straightforward, only the wireless backup camera don't need to run wires to the back, but I don't recommend because the wireless one is not so stable as the wired camera.

So if you don't want to remove the license plate light the BMW trunk handle backup camera is the best for your choice, once you got it installed, you would love how it works on the screen.
