By: Boys & Girls Club of Greater Oxnard & Port Hueneme BGCOP is a recognized leader in youth development and provides quality programs at 18 locations, year-round, five days per week, to more than 9,200 members, ages 6 to 18 years. BGCOP is a membership organization with annual member dues of only $20, however, no one is turned away, regardless of ability to pay. For every $1 donated to BGCOP there is a 400% return on investment to the community. “With your help, we can continue to provide our local at-risk youth with the gift of a world-class Club experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle,” said BGCOP CEO Erin Antrim. Now in its fourth year, #GivingTuesday harnesses the power of social media and the generosity of individuals, corporations and communities by providing an easy and secure way to give to a favorite organization. Donors can simply text the word BGCOPGiving to phone number 41444 or click the donate button on the BGCOP homepage (www.BGCOP.org) between Dec. 1 and the end of the year to give. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Huenemeprovides social, educational and recreational programs to all youth ages 6-18 years old, with an emphasis on those in underserved areas. Programming and special initiatives are delivered in five core areas: Career & Education, Character & Leadership, Health & Life Skills, the Arts, and Sports, Fitness and Education. Services are provided in freestanding clubhouses in Oxnard and Port Hueneme and include a dedicated Teen Center, 12 public school program sites, one satellite site in Nyeland Acres, one site at a Squires Public Housing, and the first Boys & Girls Club in a juvenile hall in the State of California.
