Best-ever stand at the Classic Motor Show – and a free gift for new members

The Mercedes-Benz Club will have its most prominent stand ever at this year's Classic Motor Show. Unlike many of the leading clubs at events like this, the Mercedes-Benz Club produces this showcase entirely from its own resources. Whilst it enjoys a strong relationship with both Mercedes-Benz UK and Daimler AG, it does not receive any direct financial assistance from them.

The Club's stand a the NEC, number 420 in hall one, will feature a broad range of models, from an always breathtaking 300SL Gullwing to an ongoing restoration project on a 450SEL 6.9 – a real 'Q' car from the 1970s.

Anyone joining the Club at the show will have the normal £5 joining fee waived and receive a Meguair’s Wash & Wax car care kit, worth £25.  The annual subscription is just £35 per year if paid by direct debit.

Other cars on the stand will include a 1932 290 tourer once used by the German Consul in Dar es Salaam, one of the eternally graceful 1960s 220SE cabriolets, a 1985 280CE which has had five-litre V8 engine transplant and a 1989 300SL – a lot of people's ideal classic car.

Existing Club Members will be welcome to use the stand's café where tea, coffee and biscuits – plus a chance to rest your feet for a few minutes – will be available exclusively for them.

The Mercedes-Benz Club has over 10,000 Members and organises a huge range of events for them – including national and international rallies, a national concours competition and lots of social events, including local pub meetings and participation in shows and rallies in the UK, Ireland and Europe.

It is the only UK club recognised by Mercedes-Benz UK Ltd and Daimler AG. Founded in 1952, it is the oldest Mercedes club in the world and caters for Mercedes-Benz cars of all ages. It publishes a monthly, full colour, 80-plus page, A4 magazine and offers an exclusive range of Club merchandise – on sale at the NEC.

The Club provides a comprehensive range of technical support for its Members via Model Register Captains and Technical Advisers, plus forums and a searchable Technical Reference Library on the Members’ pages of its website. Members also receive the Club Directory, which includes the ‘Good Garage Guide’ of Members’ recommendations.

Club Members can take advantage of preferential terms from a wide range of companies and organisations. These include exclusive insurance policies plus discounts from appointed Mercedes-Benz dealers, hotel groups, ferry operators and oncar accessories. The Club also has a scheme to offer its Members tuition from the Institute of Advanced Motorists.
