By: Grey Fox Pottery Night Market depended on, in part, donations from local businesses to make this an affordable and family-friendly Twin Cities event. Grey Fox Pottery, also in Northeast Minneapolis, was approached for a donation and quickly stepped in with a custom order of handmade, stoneware pint glasses to be sold at the event. The mugs raised over $300 and were also used as gifts to volunteers. Jack Akers, founding co-owner of Grey Fox Pottery, states they regularly work with non-profit organizations and community events around the country. “Giving to the community is a privilege, not a burden. We’re fortunate to be able to give to good people and causes,” he said. Grey Fox Pottery makes custom logo, handmade stoneware coffee mugs, beer steins and tankards and souvenir goblets for coffee shops, brewpubs, gift stores, military units, businesses and renaissance festivals nationwide Founded in 1998 by Jack Akers and Mike Hunt, the business has grown to employ two dozen people and support several artists in the Minneapolis community.
