SALO, Finland - Sept. 29, 2015 - PRLog -- The Nordic ID AR55 is a part of the Nordic ID AR series, which consists of different types of fixed RFID readers and antennas. Their aim is to enable automated monitoring of the tagged items and they can be used for on-demand visibility and detecting location and movement. Nordic ID AR products include versatile communication options and they fit perfectly in various physical environments.

Nordic ID AR55 is an area reader, which enables reading in large areas. It can be used in building RFID-based gate solutions and monitoring a designated area. The product highlights contain many communication options such as WLAN, and the beams can be individually and easily configured which enables adjusting the reading area.

Pekka Riippi, CEO of Nordic ID, is excited about the new Nordic ID AR55 area reader. “This area reader is a result of our technical knowledge and teamwork capabilities, and the development has been a long journey. We have learned a lot on the way, and now we are proud that we can today bring you a totally new product. This Nordic ID AR55 reader has gone through a series of testing, and it has been piloted both in retail and industrial environments as a part of RFID reading system. Use cases include area monitoring, RFID gate solutions, fitting rooms and movement detection."

NORDIC ID WILL PUBLISH MORE AR PRODUCTS IN A SHORT TIME

The estimated timetable is following:

Nordic ID AR52, by the end of Q4 / 2015

Nordic ID AR52 is a fixed reader equipped with 16 external antenna ports, which can be separately controlled and adjusted. One device is all-inclusive as there is no need for additional antenna multiplexers. One reader also covers several different reading solutions.

Nordic ID AR85, by the end of Q1 / 2016

Nordic ID AR85 is a multifunctional fixed reader. It can act as a beam reader and it also has a capability to build and run local applications with memory. In the future, Nordic ID AR85 can act as a controller for other Nordic ID AR55 readers as it is able to centralize data from these readers. It will enable building intelligent RFID reader networks as Nordic ID AR85 reader acts as reader network host.

Nordic ID AR82, by the end of Q1 / 2016

Nordic ID AR82 is a multi-purpose fixed reader as it can act both as an RFID reader with its 16 external antenna ports and it also has a capability to build and run local applications with memory. In the future, Nordic ID AR82 can act as a reader controller. The reader will have multiple communication options with 3G included.

NORDIC ID MEDEA UHF RFID ADAPTIVE CROSS DIPOLE ONE-SERIES

In addition to the first area reader, Nordic ID launches a new version of Nordic ID Medea – Nordic ID Medea UHF RFID Adaptive Cross Dipole One-series. It is especially designed for tasks that require superior RFID performance. The adaptive Cross Dipole antenna allows optimizing the reading for specific use cases whether close range proximity, long range reading or maximizing the inventory speed is required – for example in locating a particular tag. The ergonomic and well-balanced pistol grip together with a high capacity battery enable operating the device comfortably for longer than a full working day.

The Nordic ID Medea UHF RFID Adaptive Cross Dipole One-series reading modes:

* Linear (horizontal & vertical) polarization mode for maximum RFID reading distance

* Circular polarization mode for optimizing the RFID reading speed

* Proximity mode for reading and writing tags under a meter distance.

“After a year launching the Nordic ID Medea for the first time, we have developed the product further to meet new kinds of customer needs. This product is an extremely efficient all-around RFID mobile computer as it includes several reading modes in one compact device. Therefore, if we think Nordic ID Medea UHF RFID Adaptive Cross Dipole One-series from the RFID performance perspective, we have made a comprehensively brilliant mobile reader” states Janne Mäkeläinen, Product Manager at Nordic ID.
