Last COMIX Standing Season 5 Finalists to Compete October 4 at COMIX at Foxwoods

MASHANTUCKET, Conn. - Sept. 29, 2015 - PRLog -- COMIX Comedy proudly presents the finals of its perennial stand-up competition featuring the region’s top comedic talent, "Last COMIX Standing," on October 4 at 8:00 p.m. at COMIX at Foxwoods.

Three remaining finalists, Pat Oates from Ansonia, Conn.; Matt Barry from Hudson, N.Y., and Justin Hoff from Medford, Mass. will take center stage for a head-to-head face-off with an eye on the prize: the Last COMIX Standing Season 5 champion. The night, hosted by Last COMIX Standing Season 4 champion Kenny Ortega, is the culmination of a contest that began in July with 120 of the region's funniest comedians. The competition has been chopped to 42 quarter-finalists, 12 semi-finalists and now three finalists who will be judged for their on-stage presence, originality, and crowd reaction.

The October 4^th Last COMIX Standing finals at COMIX at Foxwoods will feature a head-to-head face-off with 25-minute sets from each performer. The winner will take home $1,500, a week’s worth of shows including headline spots and opening for a national headliner at Comix at Foxwoods, a photo on the Comix Wall of Fame and the title "Last COMIX Standing."

This year's Last COMIX Standing Season 5 finalists include:

Pat Oates (Ansonia, Conn.):  Born and raised in Conn., Pat Oates has unique and hilarious outlook on life. His quick wit and blunt story telling has made him a crowd favorite all over New England. Pat has appeared on TLC and the E Network. Pat has worked with some incredible comics, including Jim Jefferies, Greg Giraldo, Robert Kelly, Eddie Pepitone, Susie Essman, Mark Normand and Tommy Davidson. Pats act discusses issues in his life, which makes his act real and genuine, which is endearing to audiences.

Matt Barry (Hudson, N.Y.): Matt Barry is one of New England’s fastest rising stars in comedy. A mischievous, post-grad stoner, Matt’s act centers around a transition into adulthood he isn’t ready to make. Applying to jobs, rolling joints, and living with his parents – it’s all part of Matt’s everyday struggle to grow up.

Justin Hoff (Medford, Mass.): Justin Hoff is quickly becoming a staple in the Boston comedy scene. Winner of the 2014 "Funniest New Comic on the East Coast" contest at Mohegan Sun, Justin has featured for Rob Kelly, Nick DiPaolo and Gilbert Gottfried.
