Brett Rice To Guest On The Jimmy Star Show Wednesday October 7th, 2015

NEW YORK - Sept. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- Brett Rice will be a featured guest on The Jimmy Star Show live radio/tv show hosted by King of Cool Jimmy Star along with Cool Man About Town Ron Russell a to discuss his new film "Woodlawn", his career, and the entertainment industries at large. The Jimmy Star Show is tv/radio’s coolest hit show, featuring the coolest in music, entertainment, fashion and pop culture, all from a fun industry insider perspective in a completely live, unedited fast-paced two-hour conversational format.

Most recently, Brett has finished filming several Films and TV shows, including “ROOTS”, “TRANSPARENT” for Amazon.  In the next few weeks he will be filming in Atlanta on the newest Clint Eastwood movie, “SULLY” , which tells the story of  the crash landing on the Hudson River where the entire crew and passengers survived.  After finishing in Atlanta, he moves back to Los Angeles to team up with John Singleton again on his new Pilot ,”SNOWFALL”, as a Guest Star.

With over 160 film & television credits, Brett has had the opportunity to work with directors as diverse as JJ Abrams, Robert Zemeckis, Tim Burton, John Singleton, McG, Kevin Hooks and the late John Frankenheimer, and Clint Eastwood.

He recently wrapped up filming on “Woodlawn” which will be launched at Cannes this spring and is set for release in US theatres in October. The story, directed by the Erwin Brothers (Andrew and Jon), focuses on the 1973-74 football season at Woodlawn High School in Birmingham amid forced integration of Alabama’s public high schools.  Star African- American player Tony Nathan was recruited by Coach Bear Bryant (Jon Voight) to play for the University of Alabama and went on to a successful professional career.  The cast also includes Sean Astin & C. Thomas Howell.

He will also be playing Dr. McCarthy along side Tom Wilkinson, Tom Welling Alexandra Daddario and Benjamin Walker in the new Nicholas Sparks feature “The Choice” coming to theatres in July.

A new holiday movie, “Christmas in the Smokies” just wrapped up as well.  The cast includes Sarah Lancaster & Barry Corbin and was directed by Gary Wheeler.

You can also catch him this fall on the new TBS project “Angie Tribeca” created by Nancy and Steve Carell , the USA Series “Complications” directed by Matt Nix (Burn Notice). And the much anticipated return of HBO’s “True Detective”.

Recent work includes the corrupt Senator Ned Sloat from the STARZ series “Magic City”, the summer comedy “Mom’s Night Out”, starring Patricia Heaton, Sarah Drew, Sean Astin & Trace Adkins, as well as the Oscar nominated “Foxcatcher” with Channing Tatum, Steve Carell, Mark Ruffalo, Sienna Miller and Anthony Michael Hall which was directed by Bennett Miller (“Moneyball”, “Capote”) and written by actor/producer/writer Dan Futterman.

Brett has also been seen as Vince, the friend of Tommy Lee Jones character, in “Hope Springs” (directed by David Frankel) and in the 2012 remake of “Footloose” (directed by Craig Brewer) Brett played city councilman and high school principal Roger Dunbar, who joins together with the Reverend Shaw Moore (Dennis Quaid) to uphold a ban on loud music and dancing in their small town.

Brett is often recognized from the film “Remember the Titans” (directed by Boaz Yakin) in which he created the memorable character of the bigoted Coach Herb Tyrell, assistant to high school football coach Bill Yoast (Will Patton) who has lost the head coaching position to the newly appointed coach Herman Boone (Denzel Washington).

Other memorable film credits include:  Sheriff Pruitt in “Super 8” (JJ Abrams) with Kyle Chandler,  “A Little Bit of Heaven” (directed by Nicole Kassell) opposite Kate Hudson, “The Blind Side” (directed by John Lee Hancock) with Sandra Bullock,  “Sex Drive” (directed by Sean Anders) along with James Marsden and Josh Zuckerman.  He also had a starring role in “Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius” alongside Jim Caviezel, Claire Forlani, Jeremy Northam, Aidan Quinn and Malcolm McDowell.
