October 2, 3, 4: Bolero – “The orchestra and mezzo-soprano Julie Boulianne will delight you in the sublimely tender anthology of songs of love, desire and longing. Plus, from the opening cadence of single snare drum to the boisterous conclusion, Ravel’s Bolero marches through your ears with an unrelenting rhythm. This perennial audience favorite will captivate you with its hypnotic melody that weaves through the many instruments of the orchestra.” (www.basshall.com)
October 9, 10, 11: Live & Let Die – A Symphonic Tribute to the Music of Paul McCartney – “When the power of pop music meets the beauty of symphonic orchestration, it’s not just “Silly Love Songs.” Be there when Beatlemania and Classical Mystery Tour veteran Tony Kishman recreates Paul McCartney’s most popular songs including “Hey Jude,” “Penny Lane,” “Yesterday,” “Live And Let Die” and many more. October 23, 24, 25: Kholodenko Plays Prokofiev – “2013 Cliburn Gold Medalist and FWSO Artistic Partner Vadym Kholodenko returns to perform two more of Prokofiev’s piano concertos: the powerful Piano Concerto No. 1 and the Piano Concerto No. 4, written to be performed by the left hand only. Also on the program is Schoenberg’s masterful orchestration of Brahms’ Piano Quartet in G minor.” (www.basshall.com)
October 27-November 1: Kinky Boots – “KINKY BOOTS is Broadway’s huge-hearted, high-heeled hit! With songs by Grammy and Tony-winning pop icon Cyndi Lauper, this joyous musical celebration is about the friendships we discover, and the belief that you can change the world when you change your mind.
Inspired by true events, KINKY BOOTS takes you from a gentlemen’s shoe factory in Northampton to the glamorous catwalks of Milan. Charlie Price is struggling to live up to his father’s expectations and continue the family business of Price & Sons. With the factory’s future hanging in the balance, help arrives in the unlikely but spectacular form of Lola, a fabulous performer in need of some sturdy new stilettos. With direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell (Legally Blonde, Hairspray) and a book by Broadway legend and four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (La Cage Aux Folles), KINKY BOOTS is the winner of six Broadway Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Choreography. Recommended for ages 10.” (www.basshall.com)

November 2: An Acoustic Evening with Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt – “Two of America’s greatest singer-songwriters, Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt, will come together for an intimate evening of songs and stories. A Grammy Award-winning singer, composer and actor, Lovett is one of music’s most vibrant and iconic performers. The Texan has broadened the definition of American music, fusing elements of country, swing, jazz, folk, gospel and blues in a manner that defies convention. It is no surprise that the Americana Music Association awarded him its inaugural Trailblazer Award.
John Hiatt is a talented singer and guitarist best known for his prolific songwriting. His songs have been covered by musicians from Bonnie Raitt and the Neville Brothers to Iggy Pop and Three Dog Night. With 11 Grammy nominations and two dozen albums to his name, he was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and won the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
An Acoustic Evening with Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt will be a spur-of-the-moment concert, Lovett says. ‘The show that John and I do is not scripted in any way, and we do not discuss at all what we’re going to play,’ Lovett told Pop Matters. ‘John always plays first – we go in alphabetical order – and what I play is determined or suggested by what he plays first. And we just go from there. It’s very relaxed, a free exchange.'” (www.basshall.com)
