BROOMFIELD, Colo. - Sept. 17, 2015 - PRLog -- DATELINE– Sept. 14, 2015 – aWhere™ has been named a finalist in the 2015 Digital Accelerator Awards (http://www.acceleratorawards.com/) in the Top Digital Pioneer category. The Digital Accelerator Awards, sponsored by Apigee (http://www.apigee.com/), is a global awards program recognizing innovative organizations and individuals accelerating and transforming digital business with APIs and data.

As finalists in the Top Digital Pioneer category, Stewart Collis, CTO and Jeof Oyster, Senior Product Manager of aWhere have been recognized for creating/designing successful digital programs that break new ground in agronomic and weather data, setting a new bar using APIs.  These individuals are spearheading technology initiatives that will ensure their organizations continue to lead in the digital economy.

“Digital technologies are altering the dynamics in virtually every industry, driving the convergence of the digital and physical worlds and changing customer expectations and behavior,” said Chet Kapoor, CEO of Apigee. “The Digital Accelerator Award finalists represent the companies and individuals that are embracing APIs to build connected digital experiences and operate with the agility, speed and scale required for modern digital business.”

“By the year 2050, there will be nearly 10 billion people on the planet, they will require 69% more food than we produce today. We take that on as a core business problem when designing and developing the Agriculture Intelligence Platform” said Stewart Collis co-founder and CTO of aWhere. “Our mission is to empower an ecosystem of applications, research and global development efforts, because we believe APIs can help feed the world by providing real-time, actionable insights that provide information for the agriculture value chain” he concluded.

Mr. Collis, has long-seen the importance of a platform-driven product strategy. He encouraged the development of the original API experiment for a customer who now delivers weather and agronomic insights by text message to smallholder farmers in Ghana. That project highlighted the far-reaching potential of APIs.  Jeof Oyster joined aWhere in 2015 and as Senior Product manager defines and implements the API Platform strategy.  He has broad vision, deep understanding and motivation to educate the aWhere customers about the power APIs have to deliver more than data; actionable insights to farmers for making meaningful and impactful decisions.

The Digital Accelerator Award winners will be announced and recognized at the Apigee “I love APIs” conference (http://iloveapis.com/), Oct. 12-14, 2015 in San Jose, Calif. Go here (http://iloveapis.com/) for the latest updates on conference events, speakers and registration.
