MILPITAS, Calif. - Aug. 26, 2015 - PRLog -- “Under the Crossbones” is a new podcast about pirates and the people behind the eye patches. The show features interviews with some of the most important people in the modern pirate subculture including actors, historians, musicians, archaeologists, authors, painters, and more.

“I’ve been a fan of pirates since I was a kid,” says host Phil Johnson. “And I thought this would be an amazing opportunity to shed some light on the intriguing people that keep pirate lore alive for future generations and use it to make the world a better place.”

New episodes of “Under the Crossbones” are available every Tuesday.  Previous guests have included Captain John Swallow and QM Seika Hellbound of NOLA Pyrate Week, popular pirate band Tom Mason and the Blue Buccaneers, and legendary pirate painter and creator of the Captain Morgan Rum character, Don Maitz.

New subscribers to the show can also get a free copy of Alexandre Exquemelin’s historic seminal book “The Buccaneers of America” aka “The Pirates of Panama”.

Your host, Phil Johnson, is a comedian and musician that has performed at the Sundance Film Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and can be heard on Sirius/XM radio’s Raw Dog comedy station. He’s also released multiple DVDs and CDs filled with his sidesplitting comedy.
