By: Nashville Rollergirls Our Nashville girls are wearing blue and black and the Evansville girls are donning their red and white. Music City Brawl Stars vs the Destruction Dames. Right out of the gate our gals are giving their victims a run for their money. Cruella Lavelle the lead jammer is zipping around the track like a wind-up toy on a mission. I have never seen such a display of solidarity and fortitude as these ladies displayed tonight. There were two skater down calls (a hurt girl) this game. Beta Blocka and Fleur De Lethal along with the other ladies, handed out their fair share of bruises . The Dames didn’t have much of a chance in this game. They left ample opportunity for Nashville to cut and weave through, racking up the points. The Music city brawl stars being victorious ended the game with a 234-89 win. Right before the start of the second game Mista Cal (coach) had the Music city All Stars display their talents. Flying around the track then coming to a dead stop. Hopping up and down (on skates) then sprinting. You could clearly hear the sound of screeching wheels all the way in the lobby. Game time is upon us, Music City All Stars vs The Dynamite Dolls (Evansville, IN). This is the type of game that if you were to blink you’d miss some awesome display of roller derby skills. The girls on both sides gave such a display, that it had people on the edge of their seats! The crowd was cheering in support until their throats were sore! You would hear names like Chelsea Dagger, Lady Fury and Stella Live being screamed from all directions. The Dolls gave the All Stars a good work out, keeping it point for point most of the game. In the end our girls pulled away and dominated. They took over the Dolls; it was like leading lambs to the slaughter. This game was Stella Live’s last game. What a way to end it Stella, a victory over the Demolition City Roller Girls, 227-116. Even though both sides were giving out bruises left and right, there was an unspoken level of respect. Respect for each other as bad ass women in a tough ass sport and respect on a humanitarian level. When someone was injured everyone on each side took a knee as a sign of hope and love. It’s not all about pushing and shoving, it’s about coming together in a sport and dominating it with female power. The Nashville Roller Girls are female owned and operated and has been since 2006. As Members of the WFTDA (women’s flat track derby association) I’m proud to call myself a fan of the Nashville Roller Girls and you should be too. End
