ALLIED Raises Funds for Nepalese Earthquake Relief with PAD YATRA: A Green Odyssey Documentary

Scheduled for 6:00 PM Thursday, August 6 at the SKY Lounge in Salt Lake City (1 block from the Salt Palace - 149 Pierpont Avenue (http://skyslc.com/contact/)), TAKE A STEP will center around a screening of the PAD YATRA documentary and serve as a community-building event and fundraiser for earthquake relief in Nepal. “The Himalayas represent a pinnacle of the outdoor industry, providing inspiration for generations of enthusiasts and highlighting the extent of human endeavor, partnership, and accomplishment. With the recent events in Nepal, we wanted to assemble the outdoor community around the PAD YATRA ideal and help the industry give back,” said Matthew Betcher, Creative Director for ALLIED Feather & Down. “We are very excited for all the support we’ve received from our partner brands, industry publications, and organizations and we look forward to connecting with the Outdoor Retailer crowd around this worthy cause.”

The screening will start with a reception and silent auction followed by an introduction to the film by producer/director Wendy Lee who will be flying in directly from Nepal to discuss her personal experience and how the PAD YATRA has turned into a  new global conservation movement. Attendees will also hear from a high profile athlete  who experienced first-hand the traumatic experience of the Nepalese earthquake, how the erosion of the landscape has had an impact on the outdoor industry, and what is needed for rebuilding.

Attendance is free and open to the public with a suggested donation of $20 accepted at the door. A donation includes a raffle ticket and a chance to win a variety of prizes from our sponsoring brands. Additional funds will be raised through proceeds from the bar.
