This July the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) is offering Bostonians an all new class about the required maintenance of cars, so owners are no longer at the mercy of their repair shop and dealership. In "En Garde! Preparing to Do Battle with Your Auto Mechanic," students will learn the ins and outs of what dealership service departments do and say to tack on unnecessary and costly repairs. From the muffler to the carburetor, this class will let car owners know what repairs are imminent and what can wait, as well as what should be dealt with at the dealer as opposed to the local mechanic.  For just $40 per person ($34 for members), this one-time fee can help save hundreds to thousands of dollars down the road.
