Follow on Google News | Tiny Local Church Serving 7 DISD Schools Every Month Is Example for OthersEncouragement for Underappreciated Teachers Putting Wind in Their Sails
By: Unite and Love in Motion Historically, the relationship between churches and schools has been marked by distance and timidity. Love in Motion is doing something about that--they are breaking down barriers by expressing the community’s appreciation for the teachers’ diligent care of their students. And principals are taking notice: “We had yet to find a school sponsor to assist with appreciating my staff on a yearly basis” said Ms. Torres of Urban Park Elementary School. So often the service in our churches is not strategic, and it’s not linked with the programs necessary. Can you imagine if we unleashed the power of our church communities on our schools to lift these kids up?” “This is not a church growth strategy. On the contrary: it’s a way to get the Church outside of our four walls for the overall good of our communities,” End
