Female Plumber Makes Smart Move to Join Team

BOLTON, U.K. - June 16, 2015 - PRLog -- Amy Eddleston leaves her plumbing job behind to join the Trojan Utilities smart meter engineering team, and becomes the second female engineer to work with the firm.

Fulfilling the nation’s energy revolution to switch to smarter energy usage and monitoring Amy is responsible for installing dual fuel smart meters throughout the north-west, focusing particularly on her home town of Accrington.

Amy, smart meter engineer at Trojan Utilities says: “I knew smart metering was a sector crying out for fresh talent so I went for it. With its seasonal work being self-employed was difficult to manage so I decided to up-skill and give myself more options.”

Amy qualified as an NSAP and Gas Safe accredited dual fuel smart metering engineer after successfully completinga Dual Fuel Smart Metering level 3 course.

Gareth Openshaw, Managing Director at Trojan Utilities says: “We’re really pleased to be attracting the right sort of people into our business. Amy is our second female engineer and we hope to encourage more into what is seen as a male dominated role.”

Amy continues: “I have a brand new van, tools, the latest communication and the support of a very forward thinking company. My days are consistently busy and I’m really enjoying the challenge. I’m very pleased to have made the move.
