PRLog -- Adelphi University’s Emergency Management Graduate Certificate and Master’s program recently inducted five students into the Emergency Management/Homeland Security Honors Society, The Order of the Sword and Shield.
The
Order of the Sword and Shield (OSS) is the first national academic and professional honor society dedicated exclusively to homeland security, intelligence, and all protective security disciplines. The purpose of this organization is to promote critical thinking, high scholarship and professional development, and to further enhance the ethical standards of the protective security professions. s OSS Chapter Advisor Meghan McPherson, CEM, assistant director of the Center for Health Innovation and program coordinator and faculty of the Emergency Management Graduate Programs, performed the ritual initiating the new class of high caliber students. The ceremony was witnessed by inductee’s friends and family, as well as University College Dean Shawn O’Riley.
Adelphi University congratulates the five members inducted this year: Emily Rokitowski, Fabian Burrell, Geoffrey L. Rick, Roger Goodwin and Lynda Lamour. The Emergency Management Department is extremely proud of their achievement and will continue to grow this organization in the coming years.
