Follow on Google News | GeoComm Selected by the State of Texas to Develop Statewide NG9-1-1 GIS StandardsBy: GeoComm Once the standards were finalized, the ECAC provided the CSEC with a comprehensive document outlining all of the GIS data requirements needed to meet the CSEC NG9-1-1 standards. These GIS standards will be utilized in CSEC’s NG9-1-1 system to ensure that accurate emergency call routing and location verification is taking place. “This was a huge step and a key milestone for the CSEC to move forward in developing its NG9-1-1 system,” said Kelli Merriweather, CSEC Executive Director. “GeoComm did an excellent job working with statewide stakeholders and most definitely helped make it a success.” “GIS data will play a large role in a NG9-1-1 environment, primarily to validate locations and route 9-1-1 calls, regardless of the calling device.
