"Braiding My Own Rope" - Memoir of a Social Activist Tips the Scales for Racial Equality

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - June 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Lori J. Cole lays her soul bare in her autobiography Braiding My Own Rope, which tears the bandage off the painful wound of civil rights in America and throughout the world.

As a child of eight, Lori hears of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., and in the same year, sees the inequalities faced by James, the first African American enrolled in her elementary school. His rejection by other whites causes her confusion and distress, and propels her into a lifelong effort to ease the color line.

As a half-century-old white female student, she travels alone to Durban, South Africa, seeking real-life experiences that would show her the depth of racism that still exists. What she finds there changes her life forever, and will also change readers’ lives. “We shall overcome” takes on new meaning, as these three powerful words show what can be achieved in any language.

“We are very pleased to announce the release of this extraordinary autobiography that shows one person can make a big difference in the world,” said Robert Fletcher, CEO of Strategic Book Publishing and Rights Agency.
