PALM BEACH, Fla. - May 26, 2015 - PRLog -- The Colony Hotel, Palm Beach Announces Entertainment Line-up in June for 'Intimate Evenings' of Dining & Dancing in the Royal Room

+ Jill Switzer - Saturday, June 6

+ Eric Comstock & Barbara Fasano - June 13 & 20

(Palm Beach, FL – May 26, 2015)   The Colony Hotel, which is widely recognized as the Palm Beach Home of the Great American Songbook, is promising guests and fans  “Intimate Evenings” on Saturdays from 7 to 10:30 pm.

With a shiny new dance floor and music by Frank Derrick from the Palm Beach Pops, couples can arrive and depart on their own schedule. While there won’t be the traditional hour-long cabaret shows, guests will enjoy two performance sets each Saturday from amazing singers:

June 6 - Jill Switzer

When it comes to Palm Beach entertainment, Jill Switzer’s name has been at the top of the list for the past 25 years.  Since the age of 16, she’s performed with various bands and orchestras at many of The Island’s most exclusive and sophisticated venues, honing her vocal style on Porter, Gershwin and Berlin tunes. She’s shared the stage with Ann Hampton Callaway, Marilyn Maye and Mary Wilson, to name a few, and has recorded with The Four Freshmen and Nicolas King. In addition, Jill is a published author and co-hosts “The Morning Lounge” with her husband/musical director Rich weekdays on Legends 100.3 FM in Palm Beach County.

June 13 & 20 - Eric Comstock & Barbara Fasano

Eric Comstock & Barbara Fasano,  whose  electrifying combination of warmth, wit, swing and sensuality have made them a celebrated team in the nightclub world, are every bit as entertaining as they are musically savvy. Stephen Holden of The New York Times calls them “The sophisticated cabaret children of Bobby Short and Lena Horne … Mr. Comstock and Ms. Fasano are turning the neighborhood into a hotbed of pleasure." Rex Reed of The New York Observer writes, "He is hip, daring, confident and dynamic. She gives off palpable electricity.  If love is a wave, they’re riding the crest of it."  The Wall Street Journal's Will Friedwald raves, "Masterful … they take it to a whole other level.

Multiple  MAC, Bistro and New York Nightlife Award winners, these married musical partners have been honored as vocalists, recording a rtists, and writers of their numerous performance pieces. They received an unprecedented three MAC Awards in one year including Major Duo Artists, Outstanding Female Vocalist and Record of the Year. Barbara’s fourth CD, “Busy Being Free”, drops this fall.  Eric, the co-creator and star of the long-running Off-Broadway hit revue OUR SINATRA, recently released his fourth CD, "bitter/sweet," an intimate guitar-vocal collaboration with guitar star Randy Napolean.

Although  they’ve been compared to Nick and Nora, Fred and Ginger, and Lunt and Fontanne, the “golden couple’s” style is all their own, with a wide choice of material that brings the generations together.    Whether the song is by Cole Porter or Paul Simon, Duke Ellington or Joni Mitchell, Eric and Barbara make it fresh and new, and their audiences feel they've been to a terrific party where the music and the stories have been equally great. In the words of revered jazz  critic  Ira Gitler, they "have it all, and then some … artistic, swinging, and superbly entertaining."

Dinner & Dancing

The summer menu in the Royal Room will include USDA “Prime” beef aged in-house and several fresh and delicious seafood selections. Best of all, many of the savory choices will be prepared with herbs and vegetables grown in The Colony’s all-natural on-site garden.

For dinner, performances and dancing in the Royal Room on Saturdays this summer, the cost is $100 per person, not including drinks. Without dinner, the cover charge is $50 per person with a two-drink minimum. Seating is limited so interested people should make reservations soon by calling 561.659.8100.
