Follow on Google News | Inaugural Cleantech Demo Day Champion Announced by the Colorado Cleantech Industries AssociationThe Colorado Cleantech Industries Association (CCIA) announces Wunder Capital the winner of the inaugural Cleantech Demo Day investor event.
Wunder Capital intends to “fill the gap” in funding the commercial solar sector with crowd-funded investment from angel investors, venture capitalists and large institutional investors. Wunder uses technology to screen solar projects faster and more accurately than a bank, lowering the cost of credit and passing the savings back to investors in the form of strong returns. Through programs such as Cleantech Demo Day, CCIA works to bring together early stage investors and cleantech companies. For the inaugural Cleantech Demo Day, a national call for clean technology products and services was initiated in March and applications were accepted until mid-April 2015. Applicants were evaluated with the ValidEval online evaluation tool and six of the region’s hottest new and evolving cleantech companies were invited to present. “We had a great turnout for Cleantech Demo Day and I’m very pleased with the number and quality of applications we received from companies across the Rocky Mountain region,” said Chris Shapard, CCIA’s Executive Director. “The presentations were fantastic and it was great to see the energetic interaction between the presenters and the judges. Everyone enjoyed the format and we’ll look forward to hosting this event again in 2016.” The companies chosen for the inaugural event featured technologies focused on energy efficiency, advanced vehicle technologies, water desalinization and energy generation. Cleantech Demo Day presenters included: · NexTint · PAX Pure · RavenBrick · Sustainable Power Systems · Vartega Carbon Fiber Recycling · Wunder Capital According to the Cleantech Group, Colorado ranks 4th in the nation for cleantech investment. Colorado- “Cleantech Demo Day came about following a conversation I had with members of the Front Range investment community,” said Jeff Bisberg, CCIA’s Board Chairman. “We felt strongly that it was time to host this type of challenge and put the region’s cleantech companies to the test. Demo Day provided a great opportunity for companies to give their pitch in front of potential funders while having the chance to bring increased visibility to their work. I look forward to watching the continued growth of these companies.” CCIA is at the forefront of a strategy for advanced industries, not just of renewables but also for cleantech sectors such as energy efficiency, transportation, storage, air and water. In partnership with the state’s innovation leaders and investors, all are important players in the cooperative development and implementation of energy solutions. ------------------------- About CCIA Founded in 2008, Colorado Cleantech Industries Association (CCIA) is a statewide organization dedicated to promoting Colorado’s cleantech industries.
