The Del McCoury Band, Papadosio, Keller Williams Headline WV Mountain Music Festival June 5-6

This 1,500-acre adventure playground adjacent to the 70,000-acre New River Gorge National River (a unit of the United States National Park Service) joined the music festival circuit last summer when it erected a permanent stage suited to professional musicians.

The godfather of bluegrass is the Grammy award-winning national touring band, The Del McCoury Band (http://delmccouryband.com/), who will headline along with Papadosio (http://papadosio.com/), a festival-oriented touring band that combines what it calls “revolutionary technology” with “an evolutionary message,” melding “progressive rock with psychedelia, folk with electronica, and dance music with jam.”

Keller Williams (http://kellerwilliams.net/) is literally a one-man band; however he mixes things up by bringing countless instruments on stage, playing a bit and recording a bit and then creating a song on stage with one person playing all the parts.

Other scheduled performers will include; The Larry Keel Experience (http://larrykeel.com/) that comes with an acoustic flatpicking guitarist, while Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band (http://www.bootyband.com/) is about spreading funk from coast to coast. Shrub (http://shrublove.com/) fuses rap, reggae and rock and Big Something (http://www.bigsomething.net/) is an old school live rock band kickin’ funk, jazz and electronica. Cabinet (http://www.cabinetmusic.com/) brings bluegrass, country and folk to the stage. Future Prezidents (https://www.facebook.com/futureprezidents) is serious reggae while Headless Robot (https://www.facebook.com/headlessrobot) fuses electric harmonies and infectious grooves into an organic live experience, and Downtown King (https://www.facebook.com/downtownkingmusic) likes it when the audience starts dancing.

Some performers will be stepping off stage onto ziplines and into river rafts. Already sold out is one zip line trip with Keller Williams. Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band is still open to guests who can also whitewater raft with Shrub and Big Something.

Over 60 cabin rentals and tent camping are available to music lovers and families. On-premise dining may begin around guests’ campfires or by sharing the dining room of ACE Adventure Resort that encompasses five-acre ACE Lake with waterslides.
