LOS ANGELES - April 29, 2015 - PRLog -- Protein For Pets, hailed as ‘the Trader Joe’s of pet food’ which is revolutionizing the way people shop for natural pet food and supplies, was the start-up of choice on the April 29, 2015 “Power Pitch” segment on CNBC’s business and financial show “Power Lunch.” The segment can be viewed at http://www.cnbc.com/id/102627362.

The fast-paced part of the show featured Marco and Berenice Giannini, Co-Founders of Protein For Pets, as they pitched their innovative retail concept in 60 seconds before facing a panel of experts and investors specific to their industry. Marco is also the CEO of Protein For Pets while Berenice serves as COO of the rapidly expanding nine-store-strong company that was formed a little more than one year ago.

When questioned who Protein For Pets is targeting, Marco replied “people that have a passion for pets.” And there are millions of them.

“I love how you’re building a brand based on quality as a main value proposition for the customer,” said panelist Rebecca Kaden, a partner in the consumer-only Venture Capital firm, Maveron, whose portfolio includes the likes of such prestigious companies as E-Bay and Groupon.

Fellow panel member and veterinarian Dr. Katy Nelson, host of the Pet Show with Doctor Katy, agreed. “I love the ease and convenience of the Trader Joes shopping experience. I think it’s a lot easier for customers to walk into a small format and go straight for the aisle they are looking for.”

The small store format with low overhead also allows for Protein For Pets to offer “really inexpensive food that’s great quality product,” according to Marco.

Already poised to become the leading independent pet food and supply store in Southern California, Protein For Pets recently joined CircleUp to raise funds to further expand throughout the West Coast of the United States. The ambitious company also plans to use capital raised to create an exclusive Protein For Pets product line including food, treats and hard goods.

Protein For Pets marks the second pet-related business founded by Marco, who launched his first company, Dogswell, in 2003, and started selling dog treats out of his car. Marco went on to turn what became a national brand specializing in nutrient and supplement filled dog food and treats, from a half million dollar company within its first year to tens of millions when he sold it at the end of 2008. Giannini continued as CEO of Dogswell until leaving the company in 2013 to create Protein For Pets.

Protein For Pets was founded in early 2014 to fill a void in the retail landscape for an independent pet food and supply store that is strictly driven by customers’ needs and convenience.  With the recent boom of trendy high-end specialty pet stores, P4P also aims to make the increasingly-important natural pet food and supply concept more accessible to people of all income levels.

Protein For Pets offers only the guaranteed best products at the best prices in the best, most convenient, way possible.  That is why, unlike most pet supply stores that organize product by brands, Protein For Pets no-nonsense set up mirrors that of a supermarket with foods organized by protein and product type.
