CARLISLE, Pa. - April 29, 2015 - PRLog -- The Carlisle Auctions brand was re-introduced to the collector car world in November of 2013 with an auction in Florida.  Five months later, Carlisle Auctions hosted its first Spring Carlisle auction and had such an amazing weekend that the groundwork was set for nothing but positives moving forward.  That trend of well-run, quality auctions has continued and as Carlisle Auctions presented its second Spring Carlisle auction since the re-birth of the brand, it’s obvious at this point that Carlisle Auctions is here to stay and has become a major player within the hobby.

The Spring 2015 auction welcomed nearly 100 more registered bidders than the year before and best of all, posted its highest sales rate, hitting the $4 million mark.  Further, Carlisle Auctions is proud to announce that 65% of the 360+ consignments sold, including some very popular cars that earned national press.

Each day offered something special for the enthusiast, many of whom were part of the record breaking field of registered bidders.  The top five cars including ones from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s.  Coming in at number five was a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Pace Car, selling for $66,340.  Fourth was a 1950 Chevrolet Woody Wagon, moving for $69,500.  Third was a 1969 Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang which garnered $72,760, second was a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz at $74,900 and topping the consignments was the Burt Reynolds owned 1977 Bandit Trans Am.

The Trans Am was the star attraction, earning national attention from Fox News in the days leading up to the auction.  As the car approached the block, throngs of guests and hopeful bidders swarmed it.  After several minutes of bidding, the gavel fell at $181,900 including all fees.  In fact, all prices listed above are represented with fees included.

Another star car of sorts sold Thursday of auction weekend.  This car, a 2010 Ford Mustang GT with less than 5,000 miles sold for $26,750.  Not only did the winning bidder get a car, they got a one-of-a-kind car with a New York Yankees theme autographed by Derek Jeter, and it also came with a handful of Jeter merchandise.

Though this is the final Carlisle Auctions offering for a few months, it’s not the last of the year.  Carlisle Auctions returns to action in October as part of Fall Carlisle and again in November with Fall Florida AutoFest.  The Fall Carlisle event runs October 1-2, while the Florida dates are November 13-14.  Complete details, including results from the Spring Carlisle auction can be found at www.CarlisleAuctions.com.
