SAN MATEO, Calif. - April 27, 2015 - PRLog -- National Poetry Month is almost over, but poetry will continue for all time. Maybe some of these poems in this book might even stand the test of time, and some of them might even be made into some everlasting song lyrics. In fact, a lot of the poems in this book were really written to be songs in the first place,  and some of the poems have already been turned into songs.

The book is called “Crazy Robert’s Poems and Potential Song Lyrics” by Robert Barrows of San Mateo, California, and you can download the ebook on Amazon at: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L2UDYNC

In the rest of this article, you will see some more information about the poems in this book.

One poem that is not in this collection is a poem called “It was the Final Day of National Poetry Month.”

Here is that poem:

“IT WAS THE FINAL DAY OF NATIONAL POETRY MONTH”

Copyright 2015, Robert Barrows

It was the final day of National Poetry Month

and I just made a great connection

She was a hotshot agent from Hollywood

and she had already brought in

a string of hits a mile long

She looked at my stuff and she said

“Barrows, this is exactly the kind of stuff

that they’re looking for.

You got any more?”

I told her about some of the songs I co-wrote

and I told her about the video tombstone

I invented and a book

I wrote called “Cemetery of Lies.”

Then she slipped out her phone

and said “Come with me to my office.”

And in just a short while

we were already getting offers

for movies, books and TV.

I said “How much can I get and

how much can I get now?”

And she said “Don’t worry about that.

Leave that to me.”

A few weeks later we reviewed

all the offers and we picked

out the ones we wanted to sign.

Ain’t that the way it’s supposed to happen?

If you’re an agent, publisher or producer

and you’re looking for your next string of hits,

give me a call and let’s do some business.

I’ve got poems and potential song lyrics

and a book that will create a whole new

genre of storytelling, perfect for

movies, books and TV.

Want to see some of this stuff?

Give me a call today!

It’s nearing the final day of

National Poetry Month

and it’s your chance to cash in on

all this great stuff before someone else does.

Want to start with a sample?

“Crazy Robert’s Poems

and Potential Song Lyrics”

on Amazon and then

give me a call and let’s talk.

It’s nearing the final day of

National Poetry Month

and I’m ready to make a deal.

So, if you want to read some interesting poems that are easy to understand and could also be turned into some fantastic song lyrics...

Check out a book called “Crazy Robert’s Poems and Potential Song Lyrics.”

The book is by Robert Barrows, President of R.M. Barrows Advertising & Public Relations in San Mateo, California, and it is available as a download for Kindles on Amazon for a dollar.

It’s entertaining poetry for the masses and it’s not the kind of poetry that’s so heavy to read that you can get a hernia just trying to get through it.

Here are some brief descriptions of them, including some lines of some of the poetry in them.

In alphabetical order, here are some of the poems in this book:

ANCHORS AWAY: A cute little ditty you’ll get a good laugh out of

COSMOLO...GEE: Thoughts on the origin or the universe, with a surprising last line

DEFINITELY SELF SERVE: “Fill her up, top off her tank, don’t hang around baby waiting for thanks”

EPITAPH: Chiseled into a tombstone...”I called 911 but no one come”

FOOD CHAIN: “We’re all birds of prey and your just DNA in the food chain”

HEAVEN OR HELL? CHOOSE WELL:

“I was playing cards with the Devil and God

and surprise, they just upped the ante.

My soul was at stake and they were taking

bets on the outcome, and these guys know when you’re bluffing.”

IT USED TO BE MADE IN AMERICA: This poem is about the loss of jobs and the consequences of the outsourcing of manufacturing to other countries. It paints a vivid picture of conflicting economic forces, and you can also see this poem online for free

at www.itusedtobemadeinamerica.com and also at www.madeinusa.us.com.

PLAYIN‘ IT SAFE: It’s about everything from safe sex to safer sex.

RUN FOR OFFICE: “Out of work, need a job? Run For Office.”

There is also a song version of “Run For Office.”  You can hear a free clip of the song version of Run For Office at www.barrows.com/music.html.

Got your money’s worth yet?

Here are some more great poems for that dollar:

SALES CALLS: Every salesperson in the universe will relate to this poem. It’s about making sales calls where no one, practically no one, ever calls you back.

And now...for a masterpiece that’s sure to become a great underground video hit...a poem called....

SHE FUNKS LIKE AN AEROBICS INSTRUCTOR-2-3-4 (You get the picture...) Read the poem. It’s sexy, funny, lewd and crude and it will make a great music video some day.

But wait...There’s more!

There’s... SITTING ON THE SIDELINES: For those of us who know the feeling of watching a game from the bench

SUMMER SQUALL: Don’t forget your umbrella

SUNSET: Think about it as you watch the sun set everyday

THE VIDEO TOMBSTONE NEXT DOOR: What kinds of things would you say from your own video tombstone?  And will it be truth or lies? (For more about stories told from video tombstones, check out the book that Barrows wrote called “Cemetery of Lies.” You can see more about it at www.barrows.com/novel.html)

TIME BOMB: This could become a very interesting theatrical piece:

“Let’s go to the window and watch him explode”

TOO MANY LAWS IN LEVITICUS: ...Too many laws for me...

(but not much to repent since they lowered the age of consent)

TOUJOURS L’AMOUR: There is also a piece of sculpture by Barrows called Toujours L’amour: You can see the art at http://www.barrows.com/tjl-red-1.html

Then of course, there is a poem called “Why”

WHY?

Of course you have to end any poetry book with a poem about Why. Will it answer your questions? Will it answer mine?

If it did, it would be a poem called How.
