By: Project 150 Project 150 is proud to announce that the application process for their 2015 scholarship program is now open. The scholarship program is part of Project 150’s continued commitment to empower students to pursue higher education and be career and workforce ready. Qualifications are based on income, G.P.A., and community service involvement. Project 150 provides assistance to over 1,900 homeless, displaced, and disadvantaged high school students at 37 high schools in Southern Nevada. The Project 150 scholarship program provides a bridge to assist students from high school to college. “Pursuing higher education is just a dream for so many disadvantaged students who are definitely college material. It is very rewarding for members of the Project 150 Youth Council to conduct scholarship fundraisers to ensure our peers have an opportunity to make their college dreams a reality,” said Project 150 Youth Council Co-Founder Senia Roybal. Since then, Project 150 provides food, clothing, school supplies, sports equipment, shoes, and other special requests to over 1,900 homeless, displaced, and disadvantaged high school students. In January 2014, the SNHEP Youth Council, founded in 2009 by two teen sisters Senia and Sabrina Roybal, transitioned under Project 150’s umbrella. The Project 150 Youth Council Leadership Program focuses in leadership training, mentoring, scholarship fundraising, and college, career, and workforce readiness. Project 150’s goal is to collaborate with schools and community organizations to maximize resources and allow students to focus in achieving high school graduation, and be college, career & workforce ready.
