The Coalition is pleased to announce that Bud Rice has been appointed as the New President for the California Automotive Business Coalition in Sacramento California. This new appointment is effective immediately.

Rice has an extensive background in the Automotive Repair Industry aftermarket with 39 years’ experience and has worked directly with the Automotive Business Coalition since 2005. As a member, he held the positions of secretary and treasurer over the course of his relationship with the Coalition.

Rice has worked with the Bureau of Automotive Repair directly since 1995 on compliance issues and has served on various committees that have dealt with rules, regulations and legislation and attends the Bureau of Automotive Repairs Advisory Board meetings quarterly with other key industry stake holders.

In July 2008, Rice was appointed to California Air Resources Board’s Inspection Maintenance and Review Committee that worked directly with the Smog Check program for California. Rice is the President of Side B Corporation doing business as Quality Tune-Up Shops for the shops located in the North Bay, East Bay and Solano County.  He began his career with the parent company in 1976.

The California Automotive Business Coalition (CalABC) is an alliance of members from various corners of the automotive service industry, who represent companies and organizations of all shapes and sizes.  Together they work with other stakeholders including those representing consumers, vendors, government agencies and the department of education in an effort to improve the industry and the customers they serve as well as promoting automotive vocational programs in the state.
