Market Cafe Joins Gourmetware Store & Cooking School at Sweet Basil in Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - April 8, 2015 - PRLog -- The Sweet Basil Market Cafe opened in early March inside and on the misted patio in front of Sweet Basil Gourmetware & School. Owner Martie Sullivan envisioned “the newcomer” Market Cafe as an integral part of the 22-year-old Sweet Basil. “It fits the well-known 3-legged-stool model,” she said. “The store’s focus is on having everything needed for cooking and entertaining. The cooking school with its theater-style seating and roomy, comfortable kitchen offers an average of 10 recreational cooking classes a week and private parties. Now the cafe brings the energy of a restaurant into the mix.”

The Market Cafe is open for lunch 6 days a week. Diners can all ahead for To-Go orders. The menu is a varied collection of salads, sandwiches and desserts designed to “offer something for everyone” from hearty Roast Beef Sliders to an Italian Chop Salad. All the salads and sandwiches are made fresh to order. Since the cooking school kitchen is busy so much of the time, the cafe kitchen must stand on its own, so after Martie and her staff conducted an intense search they chose to source the Cafe’s breads from Jon Anthony's Italian Bread Company and desserts from Aunt Abby’s Confections.

SweetBasilGourmetware & CookingSchool opened in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1993. The store’s focus is on all the tools and merchandise needed for cooking, entertaining and gift giving from aprons to zesters. The CookingSchool averages 10 hands-on cooking classes a week such as the popular Gourmet Couples class on Fridays evenings and a demonstration Lunch & Learn class from Noon-1PM every Friday afternoon. Sweet Basil also is available for private parties and team-building events. Owner Martie Sullivan recently opened the 42-seat Sweet Basil Market Cafe within the store and an outdoor patio.
