DALLAS - April 7, 2015 - PRLog -- Top innovation leaders from IBM, Ericsson, Schlage, iDevices, and Compass Intelligence will debate the future of the Internet of Things (IoT) in a special session at the IoT Global Innovation Forum, April 21-22 in Dallas. The panel is just one of several within the two-day executive networking event dedicated to IoT business and technology issues.

The forward-looking session will discuss where IoT is going and how consumers will become acclimated to not just home automation but to commercial applications of the technology as well. The panel will examine what is most important to consumers -- the user-experience – as well as the hot topic of security, among other key issues.

“This Forum will bring together technology and business innovators for real-world discussion of where IoT is going and how companies can leverage this technology trend,” says Daniel Coran, editor of the Smart Grid Observer and program manager of the IoT Global Innovation Forum. “It will be a great opportunity to network with some of the true innovators and visionaries in the field.”

A similar panel at the Forum will examine new and existing protocols used through the IOT on a business case level, pointing out advantages and reasons for their existence. Panelists from ARM, Silicon Labs, WigWag, Deutsche Bank, IP500, and RTI will also discuss the challenges presented by trying to create "over-arching" framework and protocols, the failures of doing this in the past, and the strategies that new consortiums and standards are taking to avoid these problems.

Among the 35+ organizations that will be speaking at the Forum include Cisco, Intel, Hewlett-Packard, Alcatel-Lucent, SAP, Parks Associates, ParStream, Stream Technologies, James Brehm & Associates, Happiest Minds Technologies, Silver Spring Networks, Strategy Analytics, NXP Semiconductors, Blue Pillar, EnTouch Controls, Bayshore Networks, Lucid, Daintree Networks, and others.

“The presentations and discussion panels will provide great value to organizations looking to leverage the world of IoT to their advantage,” Coran adds. “It should be a very interesting gathering of thought leaders and practitioners.”
