It is meant as a gateway for talented foreign entrepreneurs to Denmark’s vast startup opportunities. The presence of foreign entrepreneurs in Denmark creates economic growth, employment, and global startup network connections. Talented entrepreneurs reinvent industries, create jobs, and increase the competitiveness of Denmark, already one of the more agile economies in Europe. “According to Forbes, Denmark is the #1 country to do business in. We now invite highly talented entrepreneurs and start-ups to grow their business in Denmark with “Start-up Denmark,” said Deputy Director Anders Hoffmann from The Danish Business Authority. “Denmark has a world class environment for ambitious start-ups including accelerator programs, co-working spaces, seed and venture capital firms, a highly educated, creative workforce, and a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem with lots of network opportunities.” Admission to the program requires an online application and subsequent approval by a panel of business and technology experts. Once approved, the applicant must then qualify for a two-year residence permit, specifically designed for entrepreneurs, with the chance for a possible extension. About Start-up Denmark Start-up Denmark (www.startupdenmark.info) is a new initiative of the Danish government designed to attract talented and global non EU/EEA entrepreneurs with world-class business ideas interested in growing and building innovative companies in Denmark. The program takes no equity in companies admitted to the program. Accepted applicants receive a two-year residence permit for up to two founders from the Danish Agency for Labour Market and Recruitment.
