Startup Facilitator Launches Second Location to Help More International Entrepreneurs Land in SF

This month, Startup Basecamp opened a second location in San Francisco to help even more professionals land on their feet in Silicon Valley.

They aim to solve the high cost of short and mid-term accommodation for international founders (the average stay is from a week to a few months).  These members are approved to match community standards and are immediately immersed in the startup world.  Members can book a meeting with an advisor in finances, marketing, legal and creative fields before landing in San Francisco and have access to thousands of dollars in savings from partnerships. This Startup Survival Kit includes discounts for events, transportation, software, gym subscriptions and other local benefits.

At the center of Startup Basecamp is a community of entrepreneurs, hackers, developers, digital nomads, designers and marketers. They provide the most valuable resource for other members: a community of like-minded professionals. Weekly events are hosted at their SoMa Basecamp to connect members with the local startup community and other international tech founders.

Startup Basecamp was born in 2013 to offer an integrated solution to entrepreneurs visiting San Francisco. After landing in Silicon Valley full of hopes and dreams, Guillaume de Dorlodot discovered all the hardships of settling in a new city as an international entrepreneur. After months of staying in Hacker Houses, AirBnB listings and hotels, he had spent more time trying to survive than actually working. This was the motivation behind starting Startup Basecamp; offering a place to live, a space to co-work and a network of international startup professionals, so members can “worry about launch, not lunch”.

With a well-established Basecamp in the Soma neighborhood, Startup Basecamp is expanding; opening a second place in Downtown San Francisco. The second location hosts 6 members (in addition to 8 in Soma) and is fully furnished to live, build and connect. With the opening of a second Basecamp in the city, Startup Basecamp wants to reach out to more international entrepreneurs to follow their dreams in the unofficial startup capital of the world. Their plans also include Basecamps around the world, and founders in Brasil, Canada and Belgium are already interested in opening Basecamps in their cities.
