Zeus Announces Launch Of Personal Security App

CHICAGO - March 10, 2015 - PRLog -- Zeus announces the launch of its security App for iOS and Android devices, aims to give users a safe and easy way to reach loved ones and contacts in emergency situations by simply tapping their screens.

Available via iTunes and Google Play, users can utilize the Zeus Alert in a dangerous or emergency situation to send an alert via text message, email, or Facebook notifications to listed emergency contacts.

Aiming to increase personal security through readily available smartphone technology, developers of Zeus Alert have added a suite of features that will not only alert contacts in an emergency but will also indicate a user’s exact geographical location.

Once downloaded, users of the Zeus Alert app can register via their email address or with their existing Facebook account. After users have configured the app settings to alert up to 5 emergency contacts — which can be phone contacts, email or Facebook contacts — the app can then be set to send a customized message when the alert is activated.

Once online, Zeus Alert can be minimized to run seamlessly in the background. In an emergency users need only slide down the screen to initiate the app and show the “Alert” button. An emergency text, Facebook post, or email will then be sent to the specified contacts along with a link of a map to the user’s location

“My motivation behind developing this app was not to replace a 911 or emergency contact channel, it was to complement them and enhance the security of a smartphone user,” says Zeus Founder Ali Zaidi. “I believe that it is a one of a kind app designed specifically to have a very clear and sleek user interface so that it works swiftly allowing the user to easily send an accurate, geographically-enhanced alert message,” he adds.

The dynamic features allow users to fully shape the app to their own specific needs, Zaidi explains. Users can add contacts of their family members, relatives or close friends and be sure that they will receive the emergency message via multiple channels.

“For us the GPS technology that is now ubiquitous on any smartphone is one of the more powerful tools that these devices have, and it is one of the key components of Zeus Alert,”adds Zaidi. “Once the contact receives the link, they can click on it and view the exact location of the person in need,”he says.

As smartphones continue to become an integral part of our everyday lives, developers like Zaidi look to take advantage of the positive impact these technologies can have for its users. Although emergency services can gain location information from smartphones, recent reports have shown that these systems cannot always access the data quickly, causing a loss of information.

According to Gannett, the physical location of 15% to 25% people calling 911 in an emergency cannot be traced.

“Calling an emergency service is paramount in any dangerous situation, but with Zeus Alert our users have an added channel that is even easier as they only need to tap on their screen once to activate the alert,”explains Zaidi. “By alerting the emergency contacts in more than a single way, the chances of urgent help for the person in danger are higher,”he adds.
