By: Greentree Development Group The new townhomes represent the second new-home development in Lakepointe being built by Greentree Development Group, which is partnering with the borough on the neighborhood renovation. Greentree is building the homes in two buildings on Lake Hopatcong by the River Styx Bridge. “Fitting with the image of the new Lakepointe section of Hopatcong, Townhomes at Lakepointe will appeal to a sophisticated buyer,” said David Gunia, president of Greentree Development Group. “These homes are right on the lake. They’re perfect as primary or second homes.” Plans call for three home styles ranging in size from 2,100 square feet to 2,500 square feet. Each townhome features three bedrooms including an expansive master suite with available tray ceiling and large walk-in closet, as well as a spacious kitchen with an island. The floor plans include a great room, dining room and a two-car garage. In addition, homeowners can have a privately deeded boat slip and access to a private community boat ramp. Construction using low-maintenance and energy efficient materials is expected to get under way shortly and sales are expected to begin in the spring. No final pricing has been set. Meanwhile, work continues at Brookland at Lakepointe, just down the street. Construction on the 20,432-square- The two communities are part of an effort by the Borough of Hopatcong to reinvent the River Styx section. Greentree Development Group is working with the borough to make its vision for the new year-round neighborhood become a reality. Once the center of nightlife and fun during the borough’s days as a vacation spot, the section has been renamed Lakepointe. Brookland will replace an abandoned concrete foundation and asphalt with 4,660 square feet of retail space and 15 condominiums above the shops. Townhomes at Lakepointe will rise on the site of a once-popular nightclub that burned down several years ago. “These homes and shops are the first step in creating a new, vibrant community in Hopatcong,” said Gunia. “Homebuyers today are looking for communities where they can live, work and play. They want energy efficient, low-maintenance homes in walkable, sustainable neighborhoods. That’s what we’re building here. “People who live in Lakepointe will enjoy beautiful homes in a great location,” continued Gunia. “Hopatcong itself is a vacationland. The state’s largest man-made lake is right here. The borough boasts a state park, beaches, marinas and restaurants for boaters and land-lubbers. There are also lots of places to work and play in the immediate area. Parsippany, Newark and northeastern Pennsylvania are readily accessible and you can be in Penn Station in about an hour from the local train station.” Sales information is available by contacting Randall Hix of Coldwell Banker Residential Broker at (973) 670-9024 or at (973) 267-8990, extension 120.
