Keybank & Young Americans Center Team Up To Allow More Students Access to Financial Literacy

Sponsorship supports young ameritowne on the road to teach more students financial literacy

DENVER - Feb. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- Young Americans Center for Financial Education, which provides financial education for young people, is pleased to announce that KeyBank and the KeyBank Foundation, both committed to encouraging personal financial literacy, have joined in a financial partnership to help increase the reach of Young AmeriTowne On the Road.

Young AmeriTowne On the Road is a portable, interactive environment that replicates the current awe-inspiring experience at the organization’s Cherry Creek and Lakewood locations. Catering to classes of 25-55 students, the mobile setup is ideal for connecting with low-income smaller schools in the Denver metro area and those in rural settings that have found it challenging to reach Young Americans’ current physical locations.  Combined with the AmeriTowne Cloud, a cloud-based operating system for financial transactions and community interaction, Young AmeriTowne On the Road can be set up anywhere with a wireless hotspot to serve dozens of new communities and thousands of students each year. KeyBank’s $150,000 donation supports the construction of a new, second built environment and continues the development of the infrastructure of the On the Road experience.

“KeyBank has long been a pillar for financial literacy across the United States.  In the past, they have supported our entrepreneurship program in addition to being long-time sponsors of our Young AmeriTowne initiative,” said Young Americans Center President and CEO, Richard Martinez.  “Through this new, expansive partnership, thousands more students from the Denver Metro area and across Colorado will be able to have the unique Young AmeriTowne experience that so wonderfully teaches young people to be financially responsible.”

“We are thrilled to once again partner with Young Americans Center to ensure that young people receive a hands-on experience that will enable them to prosper in the today’s economy,” said KeyBank Market President, Tom Tulodzieski.  “With the partnership, we are able to ensure that thousands of students from the Denver Metro area and in smaller schools get equivalent access to crucial personal financial literacy lessons.”

Representatives from KeyBank and the KeyBank Foundation presented a check to students participating in Young AmeriTowne on Friday, February 27.  The event marked the launch of the second version of Young AmeriTowne On the Road, which has been traveling around Colorado since August 2014 reaching new communities.  The second, KeyBank-sponsored version of Young AmeriTowne On the Road will launch begin construction in late 2015.
