NEW YORK - Feb. 23, 2015 - PRLog -- The New York City Angel and Venture Capitalist Conference will be the convergent point for early stage entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angels, representatives from service providers, media and academia on Wednesday, February 25th at the Players Club, 16 Gramercy Park S, New York from 2pm to 6:15pm. Conference discussions will revolve around the things that matter most to investors when making investment decisions. The panel of early stage investors will also discuss pitching to investors and what it takes for early stage investors to put their money in a nascent business idea.

According to David Drake (http://thesoholoft.com/david/), Founder and Chairman of Victoria Global, The Soho Loft Media Group, and LDJ Capital,  “Startup entrepreneurs can now raise capital to finance their business ideas through crowdfunding, an approach that allows even smaller investors to invest in business ventures. Crowdfunding enabled many businesses to grow and links  many entrepreneurs with investors since the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act, or JOBS Act,  came into effect in 2012. This communication link is important as it determines whether an entrepreneur gets capital or not.”

The New York City (NYC) Angel and VC Conference agenda comprises panel discussions, an optional pitch workshop for entrepreneurs who want to enhance their elevator and networking opportunities. Conference attendees who opt to participate in the pitching workshop can expect to have their pitch deconstructed completely.  They will be assisted in  developing a concise two minute elevator pitch which provides crucial information that investors need to hear in order to make informed decisions.

The conference will feature panel discussions, wherein a team of investors will be present to discuss pitching of business ideas. Conference attendees can also expect to learn important things to avoid when trying to capture investor attention during a pitch and the best ways to reach investors. Attendees will network with investor panelists and other investors before and after panel discussions as well as during the after conference cocktail party. All investors present at the conference will receive ¼ page summary descriptions and contacts of early stage entrepreneurs.

Joe Rubin, Managing Director and Co-Founder of FundingPost, says "This conference will focus on the basics - how you will get investors to fund your company."  For 14 years, FundingPost is bringing entrepreneurs together with leading investors globally.  He adds, “We believe that it is important to reach investors in every medium possible - both online and offline.”

The conference will be moderated by David J. Sorin, Partner at McCarter & English, LLP. Conference speakers include the following:

Alex Iskold - Managing Director of Techstars in NYC
Bradley C. Harrison - Managing Partner of Scout Ventures
Bruce H. Lipnick - Founder, Chairman and CEO of Asset Alliance Corp, CrowdAlliance and Ver-on-Demand
Jorge Newbery - CEO of  American Homeowner Preservation
Joshua B. Siegel - Chairman of Georgetown Angels
Mark Thompson - Senior Associate at Partnership Fund for NYC
Nick Jekogian - Founder,  President and CEO of Signature Community Investment Group
Scott Purcell (http://thesoholoft.com/profile-page-of-speaker-scott-purc...) - Founder and CEO of FundAmerica

David Drake’s partner (1) in ConsultDA.com Scott Andersen, spent 20 years as a prosecutor with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), NYSE Regulation, Inc and New York State Attorney General. He says,"Congress by allowing general solicitation and advertising in the capital formation process opens broad possibilities for entrepreneurs and new and seamless investment opportunities for the public." Scott  is also the General Counsel for FundAmerica.

"Information on how crowdfunding is helping startup entrepreneurs access capital to finance their business ideas from alternative sources is spreading pretty fast," says Bruce Lipnick, Crowd Alliance Founder and CEO. His firm, Crowd Alliance, is one of the crowdfunding platforms that links investors to entrepreneurs. It offers a virtual space that facilitates interactions between investors and entrepreneurs in order to support each other in creation and growth of business opportunities. "The idea is to help investors achieve profitability through traditional and modern approaches," adds Bruce Lipnick.

According to FundAmerica's Founder and CEO Scott Purcell, "Crowdfunding has already began impacting the society, culture and even the economy. The crowdfunding approach is huge in terms of generating meaningful wealth and work."

The New York City Angel and Venture Capitalists Conference is sponsored by McCarter & English, LLP  and Nolcha.
