Feb. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- Guavus, Inc. (http://www.guavus.com/), a leading provider of big data analytics solutions for operational intelligence, today announced that it continues to build on its momentum and is poised for another record year of growth in 2015. The company saw a massive surge in the volume and variety of data being processed by its analytics solutions, following a significant number of new global customer and design wins in 2014. Platform innovation and new executive appointments have further cemented Guavus as a prominent leader for big data analytics solutions for operational intelligence and have paved the way for the company to expand its products into the industrial Internet of Things.

New Design Wins, Global Expansion, Extensive Product Portfolio and a Surge in Data Analyzed

Guavus gathered momentum throughout 2014, with new design wins for operational intelligence solutions with tier 1 customers in the Communication Service Provider (CSP), Cable and Media industries; including global expansion in Europe, Asia, Australia, Latin America, Africa and India.

Guavus now counts the six biggest North American mobile network operators, with an aggregate number of over 370 million subscribers, amongst its customers. Furthermore, the company serves 80 percent of the U.S. cable market; with an aggregate of 40 million plus subscribers, following new wins in 2014. This impressive roll call has led to a surge in the volume and variety of data being analyzed by the Guavus Reflex operational intelligence platform, which now processes over half a trillion records every day. The company attributes this success to the booming market opportunities and its extensive product portfolio, supported by its core strategic channel partnerships driving new deals.

In one network business case, a tier 1 CSP customer was able to identify $35 million in savings within the first six months by optimizing network planning, and better managing network capacity, including transitioning 3G subscribers onto more cost-efficient 4G networks. In a service assurance example, a leading cable company was able to improve mean time to resolve (MTTR) customer care issues from hours to minutes, and save an estimated $50 million per year by avoiding costly truck rolls to its customers’ premises. Another customer used Guavus to deliver a new range of hyper-targeted SMS marketing services to third parties, with initial results delivering a six-fold increase in click through rates (CTR).

Built on top of the Guavus Reflex® platform, the company provides a wide range of products that address specific business problems related to network planning, service assurance & operations, and marketing & monetization. Each application incorporates machine learning and predictive analytics that allow customers to rapidly realize business value from their data and in ways that were previously not possible. The company is continuing to expand into additional enterprise markets by extending the capabilities of its analytics solutions to enable the monetization of the Internet of Things.

“CSP and cable customers’ use of analytics has grown substantially in the past 12 months, as they look to achieve better operational efficiencies and create new revenue streams,” said Anukool Lakhina, Guavus CEO and Founder. “Maintaining a clear focus on meeting the needs and solving the business challenges of these markets has enabled Guavus to cement its leadership position with a number of new tier 1 customers in 2014. We’re on firm footing to take this position to the next level in the year ahead, as we work with customers to tap into the huge potential opportunities for more advanced analytic applications and the monetization of the Internet of Things.”

Major Product Innovation with Platform Evolution

Major enhancements to the Guavus Reflex platform include support for open source analytics frameworks Apache Spark and Hadoop YARN. This upgrade created significant benefits for Guavus customers, providing the ability to analyze data as it arrives, within milliseconds of when it hits the network. The platform is able to fuse this analysis with historical data sources to provide greater context to the intelligence based on other events in the enterprise. This enables customers to use their data assets more effectively, with timely insights that can be used to trigger immediate actions, improve business decision-making and better support data monetization.

Executive Appointments to Lead Guavus into 2015

Further highlighting Guavus as ‘one to watch,’ the company announced the appointment of industry heavyweight Mike LaJoie, former executive vice president and chief technology officer of Time Warner Cable, as Chairman of its board of directors. In addition, Guavus appointed industry veterans Gabriele Di Piazza as Senior Vice President, Marketing, and David Nicholas as Senior Vice President Sales, Cable & Media, to help steer the company through the next phase of its rapid growth.

“Guavus is experiencing rapid growth as demand for our solutions continues to rise worldwide,” said Lakhina. “The Internet of Things is going to be a major game-changer for enterprises, CSPs and cable companies over the coming years, and Guavus is poised to be at the heart of it all, helping to make sense of the petabytes of data being created. We’ve assembled a world class team to lead Guavus into this next phase of growth and maintain our position at the forefront of the big data analytics industry.”
