TVS Classic Sports Channel Powered By Backlight TV Launches on All Platforms and Devices

Classic College Football and Basketball Games Headline the Initial VOD Offering with Much More to Follow
 
WILMINGTON, N.C. - Feb. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- Key management members of both Backlight TV and TVS Global Media announced the launch of the TVS Classic Sports Channel Powered by Backlight TV.  All Backlight TV platforms (Roku, Google TV, Mobile and Tablets) will now offer an exciting package of classic sports from the extensive TVS Global media library of more than 10,000 hours of college and professional sports.

Founded in 1960, TVS telecast college basketball games, previously ignored by the then big three TV networks. The sports proved quite popular, and the TVS coverage catapulted college basketball into the national limelight. In 1968, it was TVS that televised the 'Game of the Century', the Houston-UCLA game from the Astrodome. The game was telecast nationally in prime time, and featured Elvin Hayes vs. Lew Alcindor (now Kareem Abdul Jabbar).

TVS has produced a full array of sporting events including: college basketball, NCAA Basketball Tournament, major college bowl games, the Millrose Games, NASCAR and Indy Car racing, IWA Wrestling, WFL Football, PBA and LPBA bowling, PGA and LPGA Golf, WCT Tennis, PRC Rodeo, and championship boxing among its many sports productions.
