ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Jan. 31, 2015 - PRLog -- About:

Welcome to The Great Lakes Wind Symphony, a Newly Formed Professional Wind Band Located in Rochester, New York.  The brain-child of conductor Adam F. Brennan and business partner Ryan Pritchard, this exciting performing ensemble is dedicated to performing the best music for wind-bands in America.

The Great Lakes Wind Symphony is a band comprised of 43-50 professional musicians performing on woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments with the addition of piano, harp and string bass where needed.  There are only a handful of truly professional wind-bands in the United States.  Unlike community bands, wonderful as they are, The Great Lakes Wind Symphony seeks to provide audiences with a musical experience that enriches, inspires and moves people through music on the level of the best orchestras in the country.  More than that, The Great Lakes Wind Symphony seeks to build pride in American Culture by performing music of the notable and rising composers of excellent band music.

We are searching for investors who believe, as we do, in the importance of the arts and specifically, the importance of music as it relates to the enrichment of the human spirit and our culture.

Bands exist most commonly in our minds as school related, or sometimes as community related. These wonderful programs in our schools, even our professional training of musicians through universities, produce some of the most talented performers in the world, but performer’s opportunities for working in the professional realm are limited to a small number of organizations. It only makes sense to us, to build a performing opportunity for musicians, which also directly provides programming and outreach to a broader community.

Here’s what we’ve accomplished to date:

Built a business model based on a 500 minimum member audience to insure minimum pay to musicians, theatre rentals, music, equipment, PR and more.

Secured a home at the Kodak Center for the Performing Arts in    Rochester, NY

Built a Partnership with the Rochester Association for the Performing Arts (RAPA)

Partnered with a University in PA to rent percussion equipment

Secured PR and Marketing Firm to help us build an Audience

Auditioned and selected musicians who agreed to equity payments (pay based on audience attendance)

Develop a Four Concert Beta Test to work on our business model and launch the ensemble

Secured Print, Radio and Television Coverage of our Open Series

Debut concert on December 27, 2014 was a great success, though our target number of 500 paid seats was not quite met.  The audience however, was blown away and word is traveling! Audience size was 375.

Next Concerts on February 7th, June 13 and August 8, 2015.

Secured business loans to insure player payments, advertising and rental costs.
