Amy Rhine-Pallas of Abbott Becomes First Supplier Chair of HISCI

WASHINGTON - Jan. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- For the first time since its inception, the Healthcare Industry Supply Chain Institute (HISCI) will be chaired by a representative from a supplier member. Amy Rhine-Pallas, Divisional Vice President of Corporate Development at Abbott, became the HISCI Chair on January 1.

Until now, HISCI has been chaired by a group purchasing organization (GPO) representative – the immediate-past chair of the Healthcare Supply Chain Association (HSCA). This change in leadership signals a shift in the overall direction of HISCI to a supplier-driven organization, though GPOs will still have a major role on its Board of Directors.

“This change in governance speaks to the direction HISCI is taking in 2015,” said Rhine-Pallas. “Our emphasis and focus is on the supplier community, while we continue to work side-by-side with our GPO partners.”

Rhine-Pallas previously served as HISCI’s Vice-Chair. In this role, she has been a strong voice for growth, strategic development, and representation of HISCI members.
