January is National Mentoring month, find a student to mentor, and check out our two related blogs

New blogs based on the two books include: mentoringpower.blogspot.com and lifescientists.blogspot.com

Jan. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- In anticipation of January being National Mentoring Month blogs on mentoring were published for two exciting new books on mentoring. Both books include authors from THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY. One book is a very short read and the other is an incredible encyclopedic set of details of the secret lives of life scientists and includes the peaks and pitfalls of working in the sciences. The short read, "Mentoring Power: Key to Sustainable Economic Growth and Innovation" supplements the known literature on mentoring with personal communications from leaders of major mentoring programs, provides a tertiary tool that organizes the vast data on the subject, and identifies a select group of major multi-institutional success stories.

Hot listed on Amazon the first day of its publication, the short Ebook is packed with useful information including how to mentor, career and vocational guidance directed to fields in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), but the beauty of the findings is that the principles of good mentoring can be applied to any subject area.

The larger text, "Reflections & Connections: Personal Journeys Through the Life Sciences," emphasizes mentoring on the international scene, including the U.S.A, Brazil, Israel, and Latin America. It includes agricultural as well as health science topics, something for everyone. It remains a bargain at $3.99 for the Kindle version and the volumes are divided into two large paperbacks with more than 1300 pages. Want to impress your teenager or introduce your students to the life sciences? Get a copy of the ebook and supplement it with the two volume paper copies!

The book has 30 authors, some of whom served as editors of the project. I suggest scanning the Ebook version for anyone interested in the life sciences as some researchers move from one life science field to another.

Do not miss checking out the new blogs to keep up with developments. Sign up for updates and/or pose questions to the authors who are here for YOU!

FYI, the idea of creating both books came from authors of THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY ---- "Go Bucks". Special thanks to Dr. Julius P Kreier and Dr. William R. Sharp.

Did you watch the exciting game? Do you know the alma mater of THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY? We would love to print information on the blogs about the first person that finds the last stanza of CARMEN OHIO in one of the volumes! Email: rosaraskin@gmail.com
