Follow on Google News | Luncheon Set to Inspire Big Goals for Tampa Bay Charities in 2015The New Year is a time for setting goals, especially for Tampa Bay area charities with big dreams.
By: Church of Scientology Flag Some local non-profits have already gotten a jump on 2015. The Clearwater Community Gardens is a project of the Clearwater Garden Club. The Garden’s Chairman, Howard Warshauer said “This year we hope to break ground on our first community garden in April and a grand opening in late summer.” The group’s goal? “We hope to excite the East Gateway neighborhood to get involved in the healthy habit of growing their own food.” Pam Ryan Anderson, the Chairman of the Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV) is also looking forward to an exciting year. “This year,” said Anderson, “in addition to continuing CCV's tradition of putting on the amazing, Gargantuan Easter Egg Hunt, our Fabulous Fashion Show/Silent Auction in the Fall, and of course a wonderful Winter Wonderland in December, CCV is raising money to replace ALL buildings at Winter Wonderland. A very new, improved Winter Wonderland is expected this coming year.” For these and other non-profits, the event will begin with socializing from 11:30 until 12, and a buffet lunch will be served shortly thereafter. This month’s Spotlight Charity is the PACE Center for Girls, an alternative high school program for young women who need additional support to succeed. Pat Clouden, a successful businessman, speaker and community advocate, will deliver a micro workshop on goal-setting. “Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard wrote that ‘A community that pulls together can make a better society for all’ – and the start of a new year is a great time for all of us to reaffirm our commitment to building a better community,” said Pat Harney, the spokesperson for the Church of Scientology’ Since the Church of Scientology’ The event is open to any executives, staff or volunteers from area non-profits.
