Fine Artist, Brett Polonsky selected by Sundance Cinemas via StudioVox for exclusive Gallery Exhibit

SEATTLE - Dec. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Fine Art Painter Brett Polonsky was selected by Sundance Cinemas Gallery of Robert Redford's Sundance Group for an exclusive exhibition at their Sundance Cinema Gallery in Seattle, WA.  The artist’s work was chosen from a group of local artists who submitted their work for consideration to Sundance via an exclusive partnership with StudioVox.

Brett Polonsky’s exhibition entitled “Probable Cause” will run from December 15 through March 2015.  His work features abstract images of brightly hued, multi tonal acrylics on canvas. The artist employs unusual mixed medias such as toilet paper, surgical gauze, torn bits of paper, photocopies and concrete paste to create his unique highly textural vivid imagery. His work comes from a creative passion to tell stories on canvas. For the artist, these stories start with a basic idea of colors, textures and shapes that slowly evolve to create deeper characters and more complex interactions.

The artist approaches each work in a three-act process; the first act involves having a “conversation” with the blank canvas about the story that will emerge, act two is a process of deeper character development and additional layering wherein the painting starts to tell its story in more detail, the last act - a search for moments of perfection on the canvas and the painting is finished when just enough of the story has been revealed to create interest. Brett Polonsky says, ”I don’t want to tell the whole story. Ambiguity invites viewers to complete the story for themselves and when that happens I consider it a success. I’m happy with that.”

Sundance Cinemas VP of Marketing and Gallery Curator, Nancy Gribler selected Brett to exhibit after having an immediate definitive reaction to his work, “I wanted to have a show with him.
