This Year’s Hilton Head Hospital Jingle Jingle 5K Run will be Sponsored by Subaru of Hilton Head

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - Dec. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- A great way to burn off those extra holiday calories as well as show support for two worthy charities, the 23rd Annual Hilton Head Hospital Jingle Jingle 5K Run and Health Walk is set to take place Saturday, December 20 on the Hilton Head Hospital Campus. The holiday run will be followed by an awards ceremony featuring music, refreshments, door prizes, and a visit from Santa Claus. This year’s Run and Health Walk is sponsored by the Lowcountry’s premier Subaru dealership, Subaru of Hilton Head.

The race starts at 9 a.m. with the 5K course running through the hospital campus at 25 Hospital Center Blvd. in Hilton Head and onto Main Street. Participants are encouraged to don their Santa, reindeer, elf, or other holiday-themed costumes. The first 400 participants will receive a long sleeve commemorative t-shirt, a candy cane, and jingle bells.

Once the race finishes, holiday prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers, as well as to the top three in each age group. The awards ceremony will feature a visit from Santa himself, with door prizes, refreshments, hot cider, and music to round out a wonderful holiday event.

The Hilton Head Hospital Jingle Jingle Run and Health Walk will benefit The Zoe Foundation’s Harper Project and CODA (Citizens Opposed to Domestic Abuse). All those who donate gift or phone cards will be eligible to win a Publix Holiday Gift Package valued at over $150.

The Zoe Foundation provides assistance to families who have lost their infants, by helping with memorial costs and offering support through local groups and peer connections. The Harper Project is South Carolina’s chapter of The Zoe Foundation.

CODA is a Lowcountry non-profit with headquarters in Beaufort, that offers support and assistance to victims of domestic abuse and their children. They provide a 24-hour crises line and an emergency shelter, as well as case management, counseling for both adults and children, and a court accompaniment service.

The 5K Run and Health Walk is a great way to exercise, enjoy a festive holiday-themed celebration, and to show support for two very important local organizations.
