By: Indear The Indian wedding industry is valued at around $40 billion, and is growing at a rate of 25 – 30% year-on-year, with destination weddings and luxury weddings playing an increasingly important role in the booming sector. With more than 50% of its population under 25, India will be seeing nearly 400 million people getting married in the next 15 years. Indear.in aims to seize this opportunity to become the primary online platform for all wedding-related discoveries. The portal has already partnered with over 100 brands including Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Ritu Kumar, Anita Dongre, Taj Resorts, Hotels & Palaces, Shangri-La Hotels, The House of Rose, Amrapali, Joseph Radhik, The Wedding Filmer, and Forest Essentials to name a few. Speaking on the launch of her maiden venture, Sanna Vohra, Founder and CEO, Indear.in said, “India is predicted to overtake the US and become home to the world’s largest wedding industry within the next two years. This has lead to an enormous demand for wedding services that provide a wide array of ideas and information, especially in the online space. Indear.in intends to bridge this gap by helping users discover their dream weddings, share it with their families, and then give them the tools to make it a reality.” After graduating Phi Beta Kappa and Magna cum Laude from Brown University in the United States, Sanna spent a few years at Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division in New York, and has earlier worked at Saatchi & Saatchi X, and in Coca Cola’s marketing division.
