World Bicycle Relief Welcomes New Director of Global Marketing, Ruth-Anne Renaud

CHICAGO - Nov. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- World Bicycle Relief announces the hiring of Ruth-Anne Renaud as Director of Global Marketing. Renaud will drive the development and implementation of the organization’s marketing strategy to increase global fund development, expand the organization visibility, and deepen donor engagement.

Renaud has a 20-year track record in providing strategic direction and integrated marketing programs that increase brand equity, expand target customer bases and generate new revenue. With an emphasis on leveraging online and social media, Renaud has lead successful product launches over the past twenty years in both the corporate and non-profit sectors.

Renaud joined World Bicycle Relief’s most recent Africa Rides trip where World Bicycle Relief supporters have the opportunity to ride alongside bicycle recipients in rural Zambia to witness how the Buffalo Bicycle is transforming lives. With a long-term commitment both professionally and personally to social change for women and girls locally and globally, Renaud was moved by the distribution of bicycles at a rural school.

“It is truly a community event and reflects a shared community commitment. 70% of the bicycles distributed are designated for girl students. The bicycle becomes a powerful tool – not only enabling students to cover the rugged distance to get to school, but especially for girl students a change in status in her family’s eyes as the owner of an important asset to the entire household.  The students earn the bicycle by signing a two-year agreement to use the bicycle to get to school thus creating a strong sense of ownership and commitment to their own education.  We see hope, pride, anticipation and joy reflected in so many faces.”

Renaud’s previous position was Vice President of External Affairs for the Women’s Funding Network where she spearheaded the strategy and execution of integrated marketing, network partnerships and fundraising initiatives. The Women’s Funding Network is the largest membership network of women’s foundations in the world. Before her role with Women’s Funding Network, Renaud served as both the Vice President of Interactive Marketing and Vice President of Women’s Philanthropy for Opportunity International, one of the world’s leading microfinance organizations. Prior to making the leap to the nonprofit sector, she was Director of Product Management in the business communication services division of AT&T, Inc., where she worked for ten years.
