Local Business Donates Truckload Of Supplies To Animal Shelter

KITTERY POINT, Maine - Nov. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- In honor of National Adopt A Dog Shelter Month,  Wag Wagon Pet Services has sponsored and collected a truck full of supplies which were donated to The Animal Welfare Society (AWS) located in Kennebunk ME. Items collected from Wag Wagon's clients included 1500 pounds of cat and dog food, over 200 cat and dog toys, as well as cat litter, peanut butter and a unique donation of 16 sets of custom dog leash and collar sets from Lilly and Abbie www.lillyandabbiedogbeds.com.

Wag Wagon owner, Tammi Searle, said she chose the AWS because it relies on small donations to provide a large part of the shelter’s needs. Searle noted, “The AWS staff were so appreciative of Wag Wagon Pet Services for adopting the AWS for its collection drive. They are a very dedicated group of people and worked closely with me during the month of October to keep me aware of the needs of the shelter.”

“It was a very busy month for me". Searle said. “I was collecting contributions from clients, friends and community members throughout Maine and New Hampshire and even had some wonderful donations from Massachusetts Wag Wagon fans! The generous donations from so many people overwhelmed me and exceeded my expectations."

The Animal Welfare Society, incorporated in 1967, is a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit humane society. The AWS has grown to occupy a 13,000+-square-foot space in West Kennebunk, Maine, providing animal sheltering and adoption services to 21 neighboring communities.
