By: Swim Florida Having recently graduated with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Peacock has chosen to train in her home state, under the direction of longtime Coach Robert “Mac” Kennedy of the Swim Florida swim team. Peacock firmly believes in the importance of recovery, nutrition, and proper conditioning. She enjoys learning, and then utilizing techniques that could improve her athletic potential. She enjoys making nutrition a fun aspect of her life by trying out new recipes, and sharing them with her teammates and friends. Skoop is a natural fit being a 100% plant-based, GMO-free blend of complimentary proteins that's about four times more bio-available than meat, as complete as eggs or whey, and friendly to the lactose intolerant. Along with taking nursing prerequisites classes, Peacock is currently training a minimum of twenty-two hours a week in the pool and at the gym under the direction of Coach Kennedy and strength and conditioning Coach Dr. Stephen Black. "Passionate, gracious and a ferocious will to win are descriptive of Stephanie. I have been working with elite athletes for 30+ years and it is rare that an athlete of Stephanie's character crosses my threshold. She not only wants to heal and excel but has a quest for in-depth understanding of her conditions, physiology and the restorative process,” states Dr. Stephen Black, High Performance Coach and Consultant.“ Peacock is very passionate about the sport of swimming, and enjoys the opportunity to travel and compete. One of her newest goals is to transfer her endurance training from the pool into an open water environment competing at various open water competitions, both nationally and internationally. “Florida offers many opportunities for swimming, along with hosting open water races. The next two years I plan to compete at various competitions such as Nationals, PRO-AM meets, and Grand Prix meets,” explains Peacock. She is already showing promise finishing as top female overall in a recent 2.5K open water race in Sarasota, Florida. Throughout the next two years, the various competitions she competes at will prepare her for her ultimate goal, which is to make the US Olympic Team in 2016. Obtaining additional sponsorships along the way will be crucial to support her training. She has been eagerly pursuing individuals, companies, and products that promote healthy living and enhance athletic performance.
